And The Oscar Goes To....

Last night was the 83rd annual Academy awards! I watch the Oscars every year; I love celebrating amazing movies and seeing everyone all so fancy shmancy, so I thought I would give a little review of what I thought of them!

Best Dressed
Although everyone looked abolutely stunning in their designer gowns and tuxes, I would have to say that Jennifer Hudsun looked the best. She wore a tangerine colored halter dress that totally showed off her new curves and slim figure. I also loved the style of the gown; it was tighter up on top, but it flowed out when it reached the ground. It was gorgeous! Her diamond braclets and ring completed the outfit and gave Jennifer Hudsun that extra sparkle!

The Hosts: Anne Hathaway and James Franco

This was dress 1 of 8 haha

Personally I thought these guys were terrible. I am glad that the academy was trying to bring younger stars in to host and everything, but I just don't think that these two were ready. I mean, James Franco just kind of looked like he was bored the entire time and the expression on his face seemed to say "let's just get to the after parties already!" I do have to say that when he came out in that pink dress, I about peed my pants. He looked ridiculous! haha.
Now on to Anne Hathaway...I used to really like her, but based on her attitude last night, I really don't know how much I like her anymore. She wore EIGHT different outfits for crying out loud! Why on earth did she need to change so much?!?! I think the thing that bugged me the most was her over enthusiasm she had when she presented each line. I get that she was probably really excited and really nervous, but did she really need to laugh at every little thing James Franco said?
If I had to pick one moment I really enjoyed with the two of them, it would have to be their opener. I actually thought that was pretty funny and cool how they went into different movies and such.

Best part of the show
My favorite part of the entire show was when they autotuned clips from different movies into a mash up video. It featured clips from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Toy Story 3, The Social Network, and Eclipse. I thought it was really well done and very funny! The funniest part for me was the part with HP7. See, for some strange reason I find that scene in the movie really funny and I laugh everytime I see it. So, now that they did this to it, I am going to think of this every time I watch the movie and I'm going to crack up.

And the Oscar goes to... (a few of my favorite/most interesting winners)
Best Original Song- Toy Story 3 won the Oscar for best original song in a movie. It was up against a song from Tangled, 127 hours, and Country Strong. I kind of wanted the song from Tangled to win because I love Mandy Moore's voice and I thought the movie was really good, but I am also happy that Toy Story 3 won. It was a good movie too :)
From Left: Christian Bale(best supporting actor),
Natalie Portman, Melissa Leo, and Colin Firth
Best Actress in a leading role-Natalie Portman won this Oscar and I totally think she deserved it. I haven't seen Black Swan yet, but I've heard good things and I've seen clips from the movie.  From what i've seen and heard I think she did a really good job. I can't wait to actually see the movie :)
Best Actor in a leading Role- Colin Firth won this Oscar. I don't really know much about him or the other nominees ( I really wanted Jesse Eisenberg to win) so I don't reall have much to say about him. I did like his acceptance speech though, he kept saying that he was having impulses in which he felt like he needed to go dance. It was very funny :)
Best Supporting Actress- Melissa Leo won this Oscar. Her acceptence speech was so embarrassing.  I felt so embarrassed for her! She just went on and on and on and then all of a sudden she dropped the big F-bomb and it was just a mess :( I have a feeling this will be a speech that everyone remembers :)

Overall, this years Oscars had its ups and its downs. It probably will be remembered and then forgotten, but it was still fun to watch. I can't wait until next year!!

I am number 4: The Movie!!

I recently finished the book I am Number Four and today I went to go see the movie with my sister. let me just say that it was SO GOOD!!!!! Oh my oh my, Alex Pettyfer is a total hunk! Haha, he was absolutely gorgeous in every single scene AND his British accent kind of peeked out a little here and there. Overall he was just great :) Also, I loved the plot line and I think the whole story is really cool. I never thought I would ever think alien movies were good, but I really like this story-line with the Lorics and the Mogadorians. I really hope there are both more books and movies!

If you read the book and then go see the movie, or vise versa, don't be upset when you see that they are completely different. If I could give a book-movie comparison review, I would pretty much say that it sucked.  But, as two separate things, the movie is really good and the book is really good. They are just so different than each other that I guess it's kind of hard to compare them, even though it's basically the same story.

I definately recommend this movie to everyone; I strongly believe that all of you will love it!

Ohhhh Darren.....

This is a video of Darren Criss doing an interview for the Rollingstones. It is so cool because he sings the entire thing, and to end it he sings "teenage dream"...oh how I love that song :)

This is Darren Criss's interview with Ellen!! He's definitely a star now :) hehehe

I AM NUMBER 4 pgs. 165-261

by: Pittacus Lore

Summary:
It's the middle of Fall and John is loving life in Paradise (ohio). He is enjoying so much that when it comes time to train, he doesn't want to. Henri is trying to teach him the power of telekineses (the ability to move objects with your mind) and John is discovering that it is extremely hard. After a failed practice, Henri sits John down to have a "talk". He tells John that it might be time to relocate because something just isn't feeling right about being in Ohio anymore. John gets really mad and he and Henri get into an argument on whether or not they should stay and if John knows that he has a duty to his planet and so on...

At school, Sam is avoiding John so he goes to Sam's house and demands to know what's wrong. Sam freaks out and wants to know who the h-e-double hockey sticks John is. John realizes that Sam must have noticed his lights during the halloween fiasco and quickly makes up some excuse. When Sam believes John's story they start talking about the Mogadorians. Sam shows John the article he found about how they want to destroy earth and then the get talking aobut alien abductions...Sam believes that his dad was abducted by aliens (crazy right? well, in this book it might actually be true...)

On Thankgiving, Henri goes down to Athens Ohio to try and talk to the publishers of this alien magazine about the article talking about the Mogadorians and promises John that he will be home in time to go to dinner with Sarah's family. John waits and waits and when Henri never shows up he decides to go to Sarah's house alone. He is freaking out when it comes time to eat and Henri still hasn't shown up. After dinner, John is so stressed that his telekineseis forms (woohoo!) and when he leaves early, he goes directly to Sam's house and asks for help. They decide to ileagally drive down to Athens and go searching for Henri (wow talk about adventure!!). Once in Athens, they find the workplace for the magazine. This is when things get good!! Sam decides to follow this strange man that works at the place while John goes and looks around inside the place. When John gets inside this nerdy guy confronts him, but John (because he is so manly and strong) puts him in his place. He finds Henri down in the basement. Just when they are about to get Sam and run for it, the creepy guy comes back and John whoops his butt with telekinesis. They go back upstairs to interrogate that nerdy guy that John tied up. The learn that the Mogadorians knew about that article, and that they are tracking where each Garde is. The good news is that they still have no clue where number 4 is! Just as they are about to leave, the mogadorians actually show up (oh dear). John and the others just barely escape, but luckily they escape unnoticed :)

Response:
Something I have noticed while reading this book is that even though there are a lot of action packed stuff, it is spread out nicely so I don't get to overwhelmed and so I don't get bored. I really like this because jsut when I start thinking that I'm getting kind of bored, something exciting happens that gets me hooked all over again :) The more I read this, the more I am looking forward to seeing the movie...Alex Pettyfer is going to look so good when he is tormenting those alien magazine guys! :D

WICKED Behind the Emerald Curtain: A New Video Series

WICKED Behind the Emerald Curtain: A New Video Series

I am a hhuuuggggeeeee Wicked Fan! I get newsletters and such about the show and this was the latest thing that was sent to me. The costumes in this show are probably my favorite part. I can't believe that each costume is hand beaded like that...it's crazy!

I AM NUMBER FOUR pgs. 75-165

by: Pittacus Lore

Summary:
At home, Henri gets out John's (number 4) chest that was given to them when they left Lorien. John talks about how he really wants to know what is inside and Henri tells him that it will take the two of them to open the chest. They both touch the key less lock and it clicks open. John tries to look inside but Henri tells him that it is not time to see everything in the chest, so John goes and waits while Henri gets what he needs. He comes over to John and shows him the Loric crystal. Henri explains that this crystal will help John's legacy of being able to resist fire. The crystal helped move the resistance from his hands and let it spread to the rest of his body. Now John can be completely emersed in flames and not be harmed at all. While Henri is using the crystal, John has visions of the battle that destroyed Lorien and all the Lorics (aside form the Garde and the Cepans). He saw just hoe barbaric and murderous the Magadorians really are. During their lesson, a dog that had been following John around at school showed up at his house. Henri thought it was the mogadorians, but it wasn't (duh, it's still way to early in the book for them to show up). They decide to keep the dog and name him Bernie Kosar.

The next day at school, John has to be extra careful to control his emotions so his hands don't light up again. He is immediately put to the test when he arrives at his locker because it is filled with manure. Sam shows up and tells John that the same thing happened to him and that he is almost positive it was Mark and his footballs guys that did it. In astronomy class, John notices that Sam doesn't really pay atention to the lesson. Instead, he reads these alien magazines (oh dear...). After school, John learns more about his family and Lorien.

On Saturday, John and Henri go to the Halloween festival. While there, John meets up with Sam and introduces him to Henri. Sam and Henri start talking about aliens, Sam talking about stuff he thinks is true and Henri making stuff up. Suddenly, Sam says something about how the Mogadorians are here on Earth and plan to destroy it just like they did to a planet called Lorien (ha not so funny anymore). Henri kinda flips out and John is speechless. He sees Sarah and goes off to go say hi. Mark is there causing problems (as usual) and threatens to beat John up. Sarah gets mad and walks away. John goes to talk to her and he makes her feel loads better :) They go on a haunted hayride with Sarah's friend Emily and Sam. They get to a certain part and all of a sudden everything goes black. The football guys jump our from behind the trees and "attack" everyone. Well, Mark gets to Sarah and kidnaps her, hoping that John will follow. Well, he does. And he takes out a few football guys on the way. John uses his lights to make his way toward Sarah. Sam notices something strange about John and so does Mark. Actually, I think Mark is actually scared of John. Mark promises to back off of him, Sarah, and Sam. The chapter ends with John and Sarah sharing their first kiss (awwww :D)

Response:
The more I read, the more I get sucked into this story. I think it's a lot like the Hunger Games series, especially all the stuff about him being from a foreign planet and all. I know that the people in the Hunger Games are still humans, just living in the far future, but the characters are still way different than the humans that we are today. They have somewhat evolved and that's why I am reminded of them when I read I am number four. I am looking forward to reading more :)

Gleecap of "Blame it on the Alcohol"

Tuesdays episode of Glee was FANTASTIC! Oh my gosh, where do i begin? Well, first things first, it's alcohol awareness week at Mckinley high and the Principal wants the Glee Club to sing an anti-alcohol song at the assembly on Friday.  I loved the beginning of the show when Rachel sang her song to Finn...it's called "My headband". It was so funny, Finn asked Rachel why she wrote a song about her headband and she replied by saying that she heard that when writing a song you are supposed to write about things she knows.  She and Finn start talking and Rachel realizes that she really hasn't lived. So, she decides to throw a party at her house while her dads are away. At the party, Rachel is wearing this crazy ugly dress and gives every one 2 alcohol tickets for wine coolers. Puck convinces Rachel to let them get into her dads liquor cabinet so they can get really hammered.  Pretty Soon every one is wasted and Finn gives Rachel the "types of drunks" lecture. He describes the jealous drunk (Santana), the stripper drunk (Brittany), the happy drunks (Mercedees and Tina), and the clingy, hopeless romantic (Rachel).
here's the clip :) I love Mercedees and Tina

Anyways, to prove to Finn that she's not needy and hopeless, she starts a game of Spin the Bottle. During this game, Rachel spins the bottle and it lands on Blaine.  They kiss and have a "connection"....I must admit that I was totally jealous of Rachel, I wish I could kiss Darren Criss. Kurt gets really jealous (go figure). The next day, the Glee Club and Blaine have HUGE hangovers. Kurt gets in trouble because he let Blaine crash at his house, and his Dad walks into his room to find Blaine in Kurt's bed (AWKWARD). At school, the Glee clubbers are all in sunglasses and look miserable. They don't really learn their lesson though because Arty brings Bloody Marys to school (seriously, only an idiot would bring alcohol to school).

Now let me talk about Will....oh Will...he was great in this show. He is stressing about Emma, his divorce, regionals, and (as always) Sue.  So, coach Beast takes him to a country bar where they both get totally wasted. They sing a country song duet, Will was fantastic (as always) and Coach beast was half bad. I mean, she's no Kristen Chenowth, but she was 10 times better than that girl Puck has a crush on. Anyways, when the cab they rented stops at Will's house and they have a chat about the difference between them drinking and the glee clubbers drinking (yes, they both know about the "fun" that was has a Rachel's house). Once Coach Beast leaves, Will calls Emma and leaves a veeeeerrrryyyyy bad message. At the school the next day, Will apologizes about the message he left, but Emma has no idea what he is talking about (oh no).

Later at the Assembly the glee club is nervous about performing (I think they're still hungover since most of them kept drinking throughout the week) so Rachel gives everyone a shot of this concoction she created with the remains of her dads liquor cabinet, some grape kool aid, and cough syrup. During their performance of Tik Tok (by K-dollar sign-ha, as the Principal put it lol), Brittany gets sick and barfs all over Rachel, and pretty soon Santana follows suit. After the assembly, Sue makes an announcement and plays Will's message on the loud speaker. (oh boy, so Will actually called Sue....ha of people). Principal Figgins calls the glee club into his office and congratulates them on a job well done at the assembly, he really thinks the "fake" barf really hit home for the students. They end up getting coupons for free frozen yogurt.

Overall, I think this episode was by far my favorite. Mainly because my two favorite characters sang a duet together! (Rachel and Blaine, for those of you who didn't already know) I am so upset that the next new episode doesn't air for two whole weeks....darn American Idol is messing up the schedule. I am looking forward to the fact that Qwenteth Paltrow is going to be back, I liked her the last time she was on Glee :)

Here's the duet :)

2.23 Diction Exercise

Words with Pizazz:
-swale - citizenry -mounted
-gnashing -hobbled
-scarcely -spire
-bitter -raggedyman

Elements of Diction:
Elevation- HIGH: swale, gnashing, raggedyman, spire MEDIUM: scarcely, citizenry, hobbled LOW: bitter, mounted
Connotation- Cormac Mcarthy's novel, Blood Meridian, has a very poetic meaning. With its picturesque descriptions, Mcarthy portrays a metaphoric atmosphere.
Concreteness- the passages has a sort of theoretical and hypothetical feel to it.

My Claim:
In Cormac Mcarthy's Blood Meridian, the eerie feel of the dingy and gloomy setting portrays the sadness and moroseness the character must have been feeling during his jorney.

I AM NUMBER FOUR pgs. 1-75

by: Pittacus Lore (I don;t really think this is his realy name...just sayin)

Summary:
The book startes with a description of how number 3 got killed. Chapter one is when we really get introduced to number 4...aka John Smith. He tells us about who he is and where he comes from.  He is number 4, a Garde from the planet Lorien. There are 8 others like him and the Mogadorians are hunting each and every one of them, in order. 3 have already been killed so number four and his protector, Henri, must move away...again. They have lived in almost every single state in the United States, and this time they have to find a really good hiding place because the Mogdorinas are hunting him now. Number 4 and Henri move to Paradise, Ohio. They create new identities so that they have a story to tell when he regisiters for school.

On number 4's first day of school, Henri warns him to blend in, not to do anything stupid, and call him immdiately if he thinks his legacies are forming (each garde has a legacy, it's like their superpower).  Well, number 4 doesn't really blend in because almost insantly a girl named Sarah notices him and tries to take his picture. Trouble starts brewing when Sarah's x-boyfriend sees number 4 talking to her. He causes all sorts of problems which is why number 4's first legacy starts to form. His hands get really hot and start to glow. To try and get away unoticed, number 4 abandons his book bag and hides in a dark room. Eventually Henri shows up and takes number 4 back home. Number four realizes that his phone is missing and knows that Mark stole it. Once home, Henri tells number 4 that his power is gonig to be able to resist fire, like never burn. And that he needs to control his temper because getting upset can trigger the light in his hands.

The next day at school, number 4 walks up to Mark and tells him that he has until the end of the day to give him his phone back or else bad things will happen. In his Science class, number 4 meets a boy named Sam. I think they sort of become friends.  At lunch, number 4, Sam, Mark, and one of Mark's jock friends named Kevin all get sent to the principals office. This is because Mark threw a meatball at number 4 and Sam, and so number 4 went and kneed Kevin in the balls. In the office, Mark and Kevin get let off the hook simply because  there is this big interview about the football team tomorrow. Number 4 and Sam just get a stong warning. Later, while number 4 is in home ec., Sarah walks into the classroom and offers to be his partner. Number 4 is totally crushing on SArah, he just doesn't know what those types of feelings are like yet. They totally bond, and then at the end of the day Sarah gets number 4's phone from Mark so they can avoid the fight. Number 4 tells Sarah thanks and takes his sweet old time showing Mark that he miraculosly got his phone back...

Response:

LOOK just how scrumtious this guy is....sigh :)
So, I have decided to read this book because I really want to see the movie (the guy that stars in it is totally hot and he's British, so that alone will make it good haha) and I thought that, based on what i've seen in trailers, I wil lprobably get conused. So I hope reading the book will help me be un-confused when I actually do get to see the movie (don't worry, I will have a movie reveiw/comaparriosn post). So far I am actually kinda understanding what's going on, which makes me happy :) There are a few things that are really vague and confusing, but I'm sure that as the book goes on it will all figure itself out :)

WATCH THIS!!

A Walk to Remember

A few months ago I read Nicolas Sparks book A Walk to Remember. I loved it and as I was reading it I remembered that there was a movie made about it! I had seen the movie ages ago, like when I was 8, so I didn't really quite remember what it was about. All I could remember was that Mandy Moore wore this pretty blue dress and sang a song.  Anyways, when I finished reading the book I told myself that I was going to watch the movie. I love comparing books to their movies and vice versa :) Well, I kind of got busy with life and forgot about it until Friday when I was at the library. I rented it from the library and watched it this past weekend. It was so good, but waaayyy different than the book. My biggest beef was that the book took place in the 1950's and the movie took place in present day. I did enjoy both the movie AND the book, but I didn't like them as comparisons. Overall they both must have been good because I cried like a baby while reading the book and watching the movie :)

P.S: the guy who played Landon was GORGEOUS!! :D

Handle With Care pgs. 66-477 (end)

*I got so nto this book that I literally couldn't put it down long enough to summarize chunks at a time, so I am just going to do an overall summary of the book from where I left off with my first post.*

Summary:
Charlotte talked to Marin Gates, her lawyer, and was informed that if she did in fact win this case of wrongful birth, she could get enough money to be sure that Willow will be able to have all things necessary to be sure that she lives as normal a life as possible. She tries to get her husband on board with the case, but he knows that he will be flat-out lying if he gets up on the stand and claims that he wishes Willow had never been born. Charlotte decides to go through with the case, even though she knows that her husband is not on board, and that she will lose her best friend Piper. Piper was Charlotte's obstetrician and best friend, so it wasn't surprising to hear that when she got served by Charlotte their friendship was over with a capitol O.

By going through with the trial, Charlotte started to destroy her family. Her husband thinks he's losing the woman he married, and his falling out of love with her. He eventually files for divorce. Also, Charlotte's oldest daughter, Amelia, felt so unwanted and invisible.  She felt like her mom and dad only cared about the well-being of Willow and she learned that she could make herself feel better about being neglected by hurting herself. So, Amelia started binging and barfing (otherwise known as the eating disorder Bulimia) and cutting. She enjoyed the pain that cutting brought and the way that forcing herself to commit made her feel like crap.  Willow was also affected by the trial because she knew what her mom was saying about her to the public and couldn't help thinking that what her mom kept saying was true...that she would have aborted Willow if she had the option. So, Willow starts to try and hide her breaks from her parents, hoping that if she didn't break as often they wouldn't want to get rid of her.

When the trial finally comes, it's a constant back and forth battle. After two days of interrogating witnesses to share their stories or give the facts, the case seems to be going nowhere.  So far the only good thing that happened in the trial was that Amelia was caught cutting and barfing, and Charlotte and Sean worked out their issue and dropped the divorce. The trial hits a turning point when Amelia gives her testimony. She intends it to ruin her mother because she's so mad at her, but actually ends up helping her mother.

Charlotte ends up winning the case and gets 8 million dollars to help pay for anything that Willow will ever need.  Just when you think it's going to be a happy ending, the unthinkable happens....wanna know what it is? Well, I guess you will just have to read the book ;)

Response:
This book was so good. I love Jodi picoult's writing so much, especially how she makes each chapter from someone else's point of view. I can't say that I was a fan of the ending though, it totally made me so mad.  It was just so shocking that at first I didn't know what had happened. So, I went back and read the last page again and finally got it.  It was so sudden that I didn't even have time to process the tragedy, it's something that if it was in a movie I would totally bawl my eyes out. But when I was reading the book it happened so fast that by the time the tears welled up in my eyes, the book was over and I got over it. Lol, overall I would definately recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about court cases and law-like stuff.

"She Will be Loved"

So, a few weeks ago I was watching American Idol and this amazing (and totally hot) guy sang the "She will be loved".  As I was listening to it, I kept thinking to myself, "man I have heard this song somewhere before".  I got curious so I looked it up on Youtube and discovered that Maroon 5 sings it, which I think I already knew but I just couldn't think of their ban name. Anyways, I kind of forgot about this song until I was on itunes the other day. The song popped in my head and I really wanted to buy it. So I typed it into the search bar, and the move album for "the Last Song" pops up. I Clicked on it think what the heck is this showing up for? That's when it clicked! "She Will Be Loved" is the song that comes on the radio on while Ronnie and Will are in his truck driving somewhere!! I was so happy when I figured this out :) This is now one of my favorite songs :)

this is the actual music video for the song :)

and this is the clip of the song from the movie!! (I love love love love love Will in this scene)

Hangle With Care pgs. 1-65

by: Jodi Picoult

Summary:
The book begins with a prolouge. Charlotte is talking about the day she went into labor.  Her water broke early and she wasn't prepared. When she got rushed to the hospital (curtisy of her best friend, Piper, and her husband), she went into an immediate C-section. Willow (her daughter) was born, but with a terrible disease. She has Osteogenesis Imperfecta, degenerative disease in which you have very brittle bones that can break with the simplest touch. Charlotte and her husband, Sean, had known that Willow would be born with this disease about 2 months before she was actually born. After Willow was born, she had her first break. A nurse did not handle her carefully enough and Willow broke her arm and ankle, and on her first night in the hospital she had to endure her first surgery. The prlouge ends with Charlotte signing a DNR saying that if Willow has another major problem she doesn't have to endure a crazy surgery.

Its five years later and Willow is now five years old.  Her older sister, Amelia, is 12 years old and is pretty bored with life. She is livivng in the shadows of a sister who needs help with literally everything she does. Amelia gets really excited when she hears that the family is going to Florida for a vacation. In all the craziness that has been going on to make sure that it was a safe trip for Willow, Amelia forgot to grab the papaer that described Willow's conditon just in case they had to go to the hospital (which, unfortunately, happens a lot). Well, Willow falls and breaks a lot of bones while in Florida. And at the hospital, the doctors arrest Charlotte and Sean for abuse and send Amelia to a foster home for the night. At the police station, Sean looses it when the police don't believe him.  Finally, they get let go and Amelia and Willow are returned to them.

Once back home, Sean goes looking for an attorny because he wants to sue the people in Florida for the way they were mistreated.  The lawyer, Rob Ramirez, and his assistant Marin ask Charlotte to describe Willow's condition and what exactly happened in Florida. After hearing this, Ramirez says that there may not be a case in what Sean is asking, but there may be one in the fact that if the nurse who did Charlotte's ultrasound had told her of Willow's condition sooner, they could have has the option of preventing the disease....

Response:
Oh my goodness....I love this book. It's not my typical romance novel, but it's still got lots of love in it, just in a different way :) I can tell already that this book is going to make me cry...I have only read one other Jodi Picoult novel, My sister's Keeper, and that one made be bawl my eyes out.  Jodi Picoult is good at doing this. I feel bad for this entire family, they have to gothrough so much pain and suffering, but you can tell that the bond between them is much stronger than the bonds created between most average families. I love love love this book!

Gleecap of "Comeback"

Ugghhh....this week the Glee Club got the deadly disease BEIBER FEVER! Well, not literally but it was still bad.  See, Sam knows he is losing Quinn to Finn so he comes up with this crazy idea to create a Justin beiber band to get Quinn to all back in love with him.  It was really funny actually because Sam was waaayyyy better then Beiber....he actually made the song "Baby Baby' sound halfway decent.  Finn was the only guy in Glee club who did not become a Beiber clone....he actually had some sense thank the lord.  He was this way until Quinn told him that she chose Sam because she is attracted to his "stardom". Finn then tries to be Beiber, but it just doesn't work out for him.  Sam really thinks that he's won Quinn over until Santana has a "talk" with him. She tells him that he really needs to think about why exactly Quinn and Finn had mono at the same time...it wasn't because Finn choked on a gumball and Quinn saved him (yeeaaahh...that was their excuse), but because they had one heck of a make-out session. Sanatana offers her "services" (if you know what I mean) to help Sam get back at Quinn for cheating. later in the episode Quinn asks Sam if he's still on for Friday night, and he tells her that there's no date on Friday because they're no longer going out.  WAY TO GO SAM!! For some reason, I really don't like Quinn....it could be because of the way she acted last season when she was pregnant (oh whoa is me...I'm going to be a teen mom, my life sucks....blah blah blah...well Quinn, newsflash! maybe you shouldn't have don't the direct object-hehe- with someone, especially cuz that someone wasn't your boyfriend) and now all we're going to hear bout is her whining because she cheated on her boyfriend (a second time!!) and now she got dumped...again (may I point out that this is the second time she has cheated AND lied about it).

On another note, Sue is depressed as ever and tries to commit "Sue-icide". Emma and Will try to go to her aid and Emma suggests that Sue should sit in Glee Club this week because music makes her "Happy". Sue gets her mojo back once she realizes her goal is to focus on destroying the Glee Club.  She decides that she is going to ruin them from the inside out, starting with the two Divas Rachel and Mercedes.  They have a diva-off and sing "Take me or leave me" from Rent (LOVE THAT MUSICAL!!!)  What started as a competition turned into a fun time with two of the best singers in glee club :) Will finally starts thinking that Sue has seen the light, oh he doesn't know how wrong he is. At the the end of the episode, Sue informs Will that she is the new Oral intensity coach and that she will be competing against him at regionals. grreeeaaatttt.....

The final thing that happens in the episode deals with Rachel. She's got her mojo back and is determined to become a star once again.  To try and get popular, she tries to set a trend by making Brittany wear her style to school.  Only her plan goes terribly wrong....every time Rachel tries to claim that Brittany started that trend because she told her to, everyone makes fun of her, but praises Brittany. Rachel gets super bummed. She gets even more upset when everyone denies her idea to write their own songs for regional...the only way that they will be unexpected.  Finn agreed with her, and told Rachel that she needs to write a song to prove to the rest of the glee club that her idea was great.  Oh how I am beginning to loathe Finn and his jerkness.....

Sundays at Tiffany's pgs. 165-201

by: James Patterson

Summary:
Jane and Michael had spent the next few days getting to know each other...again. Both of them were feeling extremely happy and just enjoyed each others company. A few days after their reunion, Michael asked Jane out to dinner. She got super excited and made sure that she looked extra cute for their first "official" date. After dinner, they went out to get espresso's and took a walk. This is where they shared their first kiss. Jane got this feeling inside of her that she couldn't describe. She was just so happy!! After Michael dropped Jane off at her apartment and gave her a kiss goodnight, he left feeling like he was walking on air. Inside of her apartment, Jane got an unexpected visit from her mother. Her mother asked all these personal questions like "where were you? and who were you with?", Jane didn't give a very specific answer. GO JANE! Right before she left, Vivienne told Jane that heart problems run in their family and that her own mother died of hear failure when she was only 37...Jane's only 32. Weird....(foreshadowing? maybe!)

The next morning, Jane had hoped that Michael would have been waiting downstairs to walk her to work again, but he wasn't anywhere to be found. When she got to her office, Hugh (eww) was waiting for her. (oh great. This isn't going to end well) Hugh made up all this bull about how he was such a jerk for leaving Jane in Brooklyn and blah blah blah...Jane got so fed up and punched Hugh smack in the face! He called her crazy and a bunch of other inappropriate things. Jane walks out of her office and tells her secretary to hold all of her calls...forever. (but I don't think she actually quit her job...weird). Michael goes looking for Jane at her work, but her secretary informs him of what happened and he leaves to go looking for her. During his search, Michael stopped at a church and prayed to God, asking him why on earth he was sent to see Jane again. Suddenly, he realized why he had come back....All those years ago he was Jane's imaginary friend to help bring her into the joys of life, and now he's here to help bring her out of life...Jane is going to die....

Response:
WHAT?!?! I can't believe what is happening in this book! I mean how can Michael be back just because Jane is going to die! It just can't happen....it better not happen. I love and absolutely HATE tragic love stories. I love the whole idea of a love that is doomed and will never work out, but I hate the idea that the two people will never get to be together. It makes me so sad :( Right now, the story is turning out to be a tragic love story....I hope it has a happy ending....

Sundays at Tiffany's pgs. 115-164

by: James Patterson

Summary:
.After Jane found her way back to Manahttan from Brooklyn, she saw that there were like a million messages from her mother.  She ignored all of them and decided that she wanted to go look at big, shiny, diamond rings at Tiffany's. When she got to the store, a flood of memeories from her childhood came back to her. She remembered how this was the only place that she and her mother really had a strong mother-daughter relationship. She ended up buying a diamond ring to wear on her right finger.  After Tiffany's she went to the St. Regis where she ordered a coffee sundae with hot fudge. While she was there, she noticed a man that looked almost exactly like Michael. Something came over her and she got up and walked straight over to where he was sitting. All she could mutter was "Michael?". Michael about died....he was so confused. Soon, they started talking, and talking, and talking. The next day at work, Jane was in her office when Michael showed up to take her to lunch. Vivenne noticed him and started interoogating him. Finally Jane came out and saw Michael with her mother. Jane could tell her mom was not happy, not happy at all, but she didn't really care. Jane and Michael left and went out to lunch where they spent even more time just talking. She actually didn't go back to work at all that day. And when it fianlly came time for Jane to go home, Michael walked her all the way back to her apartment. Once there, Michael just said "Good night Jane. It was a perfect day, but I think I better go now.", and left....

Response:
YES!! Jane and Michael finally saw each other!! I was so excited when I read this part. Now the book is getting really good, I am getting to the point where I can't put it down. I am looking forward to reading more about Jane and Michael's relationship. I can't wait until they have their first kiss :)

Sundays at Tiffany's pgs. 53- 114

by: James Patterson

Summary:
Michael got into that cab and followed Jane all the way to her apartment. He didn't actually speak to Jane, but he watched her from the outside of the apartment building just to make sure she got in ok.  The next day Michael tries to think about why he saw Jane last night, he never sees his kids after he leaves them when they turn 9.  So, to try and forget about Jane, Michael's friend Owen introduces him to a woman named Claire.  Michael doesn't do anything with Claire accept talk to her about Jane.

While Jane was at work the next day, Hugh came to her office and made up all this bull crap about why he didn't show up for dinner the previous night, and for some strange reason Jane allowed him to take her out to lunch. Little did she know that Michael was following her, making sure she was safe. A few nights later, Jane and Hugh (she has not completely forgiven him, but just is afraid of breaking up with him) go to this cocktail party and opening of this new museum exhibit. While at the the museum, Hugh's agent conveniently shows up and starts talking to Jane about who should play "Michael the imaginary friend" in her new movie version of her play Thank Heaven. Jane got so mad at Hugh, she just couldn't believe he would send his agents to try and convince her into giving him the part.  She told Hugh that she didn't want to talk about work and he got REALLY mad and said a few inappropriate words. She got embarrassed and walked out of the museum. She went to a bar and got pretty tipsy.  Michael, of course, followed her and watched her as she got wasted. Eventually he couldn't take it anymore and left.  As he was leaving, Jane caught his eye and this is when she really thought she was going crazy. She just couldn't have seen Michael.  The next day while Jane was on her way to work, Hugh drove up in his super expensive car and told Jane to get in, they had to talk. Because she is so stupid, Jane gets into the car. While they were driving, Hugh tries to make Jane a deal saying that if she gives him the part in her movie he will marry her. She was so appalled and started yelling at Hugh.  Hugh got really mad and kicked Jane out of the car. Oh great....now Jane is trapped in Brooklyn....

Response:
Oh I really hope Jane and Michael get together soon! I really do not like Hugh, he is so rude! I can't believe he thought that making that deal was considered a proposal.  I totally agree with Jane when she said that she would never ever marry him. I'm a lot like Jane  when I think of my marriage proposal.  I want it to be romantic and meaningful, I defiantly do not want it to be just some little old thing that my boyfriend does.

Gleecap of "Silly Love Songs"

It's the week of Valentine's Day and love is in the air at McKinley High and Dalton Academy....Love DRAMA that is.  I honestly think more hearts got broken in this episode than in any other, which is kind of ironic because it's the Valentine's day show.

Well, to kick things off; Finn is like the most popular guy in school now because they won the championship game and all the girls want to kiss him accept Quinn, the one girl that he wants to kiss. So, to try and get Quinn to kiss him, he decides to set up a kissing booth.  Wow, what a stupid idea.  Rachel is really mad when she goes to get her kiss because she only gets a cheek kiss.  Finn tries to make up for it by giving her his belated Christmas gift, a star necklace, and tells her that they both need to be single now; especially Rachel so she can focus on her dream of becoming a star.  (because Rachel is so naive she totally buys this bull crap, but I don't not for one second) Anyway, Quinn tells Finn that she's not going to kiss him because she's still with Sam. Sam gets jealous and tells Quinn that the only way he will know for sure that Quinn isn't into Finn, is to see her kiss him.  Quinn agrees and when she and Finn kiss (with Sam watching) they see fireworks.  She slyly whispers in Finn's ear to meet her later...NOT GOOD! Santana realizes what Finn and Quinn have done and to get revenge, she comes up with this scheme to make sure that Quinn and Finn both get Mono, so Sam knows that they were cheating.  She succeeds, but I don't think Sam really suspects that anything happened.

The other storyline is between Puck and the new Glee girl, Lauren Zizes.  Puck realizes that he really likes her and spends the entire episode trying to get her to go out with him.  He sings a love song to her, tries to sweet talk her, and eventually "proposes" to her with a ring pop; asking her to go to breadstix with him on Valentines day.  She accepts, but doesn't show up.  The next day, she tells Puck that she wants a serious relationship ands that she knows how "un-commital" Puck is, so if he really likes her he will take things slow. It was so funny!

At Dalton Academy, Kurt isn't really in the Valentine's Day mood until Blaine tells him that he has a crush on some guy and is going to ask him out by singing to him on Valentine's Day.  Kurt thinks it's him and gets super excited, until Blaine tells the glee club that this crush works at the Gap. But, when Blaine sings his love song the the guy at the Gap, the guy totally shoots him down.  Blaine gets really upset, but Kurt is there for him (awww :D) Kurt also tells Blaine that he really thought it was him who Blaine had a crush on, and Blaine said that he really does care for Kurt, but that for now it would be better to be Friends because he's no good at romance.  So, in the end Blaine and Kurt are on mutual ground...they better get together officially soon because other than Finchel (Finn and Rachel) they are my favorite couple!

The episode ends with Rachel in the nurse's office taking care of Finn until his mom comes to pick him up. Rachel asks Finn what it was like kissing Quinn and Finn responds by saying "Fireworks".  Rachel also asks what he felt whenever he kissed her, and Finn just kind of sits there. It takes Rachel all she has to not cry, Finn tries to explain, but Rachel cuts him off by saying that she needed to hear that; now she can finally move on....Ok, so here's where I vent.  FINN IS SUCH A STINKING JERK! I used to like him, but then he just got all mean and now I don't. I reeeaalllyyy hope Finn and Quinn don't get back together again, because it's just going to end horribly....I mean c'mon it didn't really work out that well the First time....and Finn and Rachel are so perfect together...that's all that needs to be said about that.  Well, until next week :) P.s : sorry the post was so long...

Teenage Driving: What are the risks?

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/03/teenagers-friends-and-bad-decisions/?src=me&ref=general

This article is all about Teenage driving. It talks about recent studies that have proven that teenage peer pressure influences teenage driving. I completely agree with the studies. I think that when teenagers drive with their friends in the car, they feel like they need to show off and act "cool"; causing them to make some really stupid and sometimes fatal decisions. Now, I don't believe that all teenagers feel the pressure when driving with their friends. In fact, whenever I'm a passenger in my friends car, they always show responsibility and are super careful. Granted, that could be because my mom practically threatens their lives, but it also has to do with the fact that I understand that driving is not something to mess around with. I don't mess around with my friends while they're driving because I'm pretty sure that they don't want to get in an accident as much as I don't. Overall, I thought the smart people that created this article pretty much hit this issue dead-on.

The cutest Superbowl Commercial

This kid.....he is so adorable. Personally, I thought most of the superbowl commercials weren't very good this year, but this one is by far my favorite!

Gleecap of last night's episode: "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle" (SPOILER ALERT)

So, last night's episode of Glee was AMAZING! It was totally worth staying up waaaayyy late to watch.

Sue was hysterical in this episode, especially when she gets denied her right to use cannon for her regional competition.  When the principal tells her that she can't shoot a student out of cannon without their consent, she goes crazy and destroys the office and the boys locker room.  It's so funny!

I also loved the whole plot line about the the football players and the football players that are in Glee Club.  It was super intense! The funniest part was when Rachel and Puck finished singing a duet, this huge fight broke out and you could see Rachel in the background trying to kick one of the football guys. So, to try and ease the tension the football coach and Mr. Shue decide that the football team and the glee-clubbers are going to perform at half-time during the championship game.  The glee clubbers are all for it, but the football guys don't want to risk becoming losers, so they quit the team.

And who can forget...DARREN CRISS! Ohhhh mmyyy.....that song he sang with the rest of the Dalton Warblers was soooooo good!! Oh and Kurt! Boy have I missed him, he is probably my favorite character.  :)

Ok, so the FUNNIEST part in the entire episode is when the female glee-clubbers decide to join the football team so they don't have to forfeit the championship.  Rachel was so funny, she had absolutely NO idea what she was doing whatsoever. Tina actually almost made a touch-down, but some big guy from the other team nailed her (she was ok though).

At half-time, Finn goes to get the cheerios (Quinn, Brittany, and Santana) before they leave for their competition.  Sue is furious when she finds out they quit the squad.  Puck goes and tells the football guys this mushy-gushy stuff about how they've waited their entire lives to win the championship..blah blah blah.  So, at half time the football team AND the Glee club sing "Thriller"...let's just say that it was stinking fantastic!

The show was totally great until the very end.  This is where I got mad...very mad (okay not THAT mad). anyways, Finn and Quinn are alone in the hallway and she tells him all this junk about how he was a good leader and how she wouldn't have been able to quit the Cheerios without him and then you know what she did? SHE KISSED HIM....oh boy was I mad. She can't kiss him! Finn just has to get back together with Rachel, and um...well Quinn sorta just um CHEATED on Sam, just a little bit.... I'm telling you, this show gets more dramatic with every episode...it's crazy!!

Sundays at Tiffany's pgs 37-52

By: James Patterson

Summary:
It's twenty-three years later and Jane is not a child anymore, but she is more alone than ever. She has a steady boyfriend and works for her mom. Jane is a playwright for Broadway.  She has just recently written a show that was a huge success (Michael inspired her to write it, so no, she most defiantly has NOT forgotten about him). Because the play did so well, she and her overbearing mother are trying to turn it into a movie. Anyway, her boyfriend's name is Hugh and he was the male lead in her play, and based on the descriptions in the book, he is one hunky-monkey!

After work she goes home and gets ready for her date with Hugh.  When she arrives at the restaurant, the hostess told Jane that Hugh had not arrived yet ,but that she was welcome to go to her table and wait.  While she was waiting, she began to play the Jane-and-Michael game without even realizing it.   After a couple of drinks and a half an hour later, Jane decides to go ahead and order her dinner.  She tries to come up with reasons as to why Hugh wasn't there yet, but she couldn't come up with anything other than that he might have been at gym (Hugh is obsessed with his appearance). When an hour passes, she concludes that Hugh stood her up and decides that it's time for her to go home.  On the way home, she tries her hardest not to cry in public.  Little does she know that as she's walking Michael (yes her x-imaginary friend: THAT MICHAEL) notices her. Michael is on vacation (meaning that he is in between jobs) and decided to come back to New York.  When Michael sees Jane, he completely freaks out because he has never seen one of his kids (meaning friend) as an adult.  He nearly knocks over a hot-dog stand as he runs to catch up to her.  The last thing that happens in this chapter is Michael telling his taxi driver to "follow that cab!"....

Response:
WOW! This book is really good :) I'm just a tad bit confused right now though because I don't know if Michael is like an adult when he sees Jane, or if he's still a little kid? I guess what I want (and hope) to figure out is if Michael like grows up ever? Apparently, there is a made for TV movie about this book, so maybe it won't be so confusing if I watch what happens :)

My Reading Nook!

This is my Nook! I made it this afternoon with my little sister, Madison :) We had so much fun!!

So, I know Mr, Hill wanted a picture of US in the nook, but I wondered how I was supposed to keep my blog anonymous if there was a picture of ME in it.....I hope it's alright if I took a picture of my sister in it instead. I promise you all that I DID in fact read in it though, I also kept it up...I think I am going to do all of my reading in it for the rest of the semester :) It's very cozy! In fact, my sister and I watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in it...we had a very relaxing afternoon.  What can get any better than reading and watching movies??!
here's just another picture I think is too cute :)

SAT...here I come!

Well, it's official.  I'm taking my SAT in March...I signed up during our time off last week and bought that stinking huge study guide book thing at Barnes and Noble yesterday.  I'm actually really nervous about taking it, I mean my future could depend on my score of this test. Now, I'm not planning to go to Harvard or Yale or anywhere like that, but still, I need to do well on this thing.  I want to go to Ball State and from what I've heard they accept average and above, which is a good thing because I will defiantly be in that range.  I also want to do a good job the first time around because I reealllyyy don't want to take the 4 hour long test a second time....I think once will be brutal enough.  It looks like I've got a lot of studying to do...ggrreeaattt

Sundays at Tiffany's pgs. 1-34

by: James Patterson

Summary:
The book starts in an ice cream shop.  Jane is an eight year old girl who has ordered a chocolate fudge sundae and her friend Michael has ordered lemon sherbet.  They began to play the Jane-and-Michael-Game.  To play the game, they create life stories for the other people in the shop.  Whoever comes up with the best story wins and whoever loses has to pay for the ice cream. The coolest thing abut Michael: he's her imaginary friend.  So when Jane's mom came over to tell her it was time to go, Michael turned invisible (it was pretty sweet).  Vivienne is Jane's mother and she is a Broadway play/musical producer. She pretty much doesn't do anything with Jane except for their weekly outing to get ice cream and go to look at all the diamonds at Tiffany's. She really is a bad mom.

The next day is Jane's birthday and she is really excited because she thinks her mom is going to throw her a birthday party and get her a puppy.  Boy, is she in for a surprise.  It turns out that the so called "party" that her mom threw her was actually a cast party for her latest musical.  The only "birthday" part about it was when Michael invisibly told the pianist that they should sing happy birthday to Jane.  Her dad (hubby number 2 for Vivienne, who is now on hubby number 3) stopped by to give Jane a giant stuffed poodle.  It was the only present she got and it wasn't even a really puppy.  Her night goes from bad to worse when Michael told her that he has to go away.  Apparently, imaginary friends are only allowed to be with their kids until they turn 9.  Right before he leaves, Jane tells Michael that she will always remember and will NEVER forget him.

Response:
I know that I haven't finished the Princess Diaries yet, but I have a good reason. I was recently at the Barnes and noble and I saw that there are a LOT of books in the series, I'm talking like more than 10.  I don't really want to spend my whole semester reading those books, so I decided to give them up, for now at least.  Anyways, I was with my friend at the time and she pointed this book out to me.  She said it was super good and that it was a total tear jerker. I went back the next day and bought it...man  am I glad I did :) I'm only 34 pages in and I can already tell it's gonna be amazing!

The Princess Diaries Part III: Princess in Love ....pgs 82-126

by: Meg Cabot

Summary:
My reading began with Mia receiving an e-mail from Lilly. Lilly has scheduled a mass walkout in protest of all the stress the teachers have been putting on the students.  Mia thinks it's a completely horrible idea, but she can't bring herself to tell Lilly.  So, on the day of the walkout, Mia asks for a hall pass and ends up pulling the fire alarm.  Lilly was furious, but not at Mia because no one knows that she was the one who pulled it.

On the side of Mia's relationship issues:  Mia decides that the only way she can get Michael to know that she exists is to send him anonymous love letters (since it worked so well with getting Mia to notice Kenny).  She also is having more drama with Kenny because he told her he loves her AGAIN. Only this time he said (well yelled) it in a hallway full of people.  Now everyone is teasing her and asking why the heck she didn't say "I love you" back. She also has an interesting conversation with her freind Tina about how to be a good kisser (you know, just in case Micahel ever does ask her out).

At her princess lesson, Mia has to try on ballgown after ballgown (to try and see which one is the perfect one for her debut to the Genovian people). As she is doing this, she finds herself spilling her guts about all of her love life problems to her designer, Sebastiano. Sebastiano is a very good listener, and when it comes time for Mia to leave, she feels 10 million times better becuase she got everything off her chest.

My reading ends with Mia writing about a school-wide asssembly that was called to try and figure out who the person who pulled the fire alarm was (oops...Mia could be in some big trouble).

Response:
Well, I'm about half way done with this book...and I'm so sad :( I love love love this one (mainly because it's about love) and I can't believe it's going to end soon!! I believe that my favorite part in this chunk of reading was on the day of the walkout.  Mia kept arguing with herself about whether or not she is going to participate. I just cracked up when she got her hall pass and was walking around the hallway like she was a crimminal, and then when she pulled the fire alarm...oh it was a great read :) I am finding out that these books just keep getting funnier and funnier...and that's a great thing!!
