Summary:
My reading began with Mia receiving an e-mail from Lilly. Lilly has scheduled a mass walkout in protest of all the stress the teachers have been putting on the students. Mia thinks it's a completely horrible idea, but she can't bring herself to tell Lilly. So, on the day of the walkout, Mia asks for a hall pass and ends up pulling the fire alarm. Lilly was furious, but not at Mia because no one knows that she was the one who pulled it.
On the side of Mia's relationship issues: Mia decides that the only way she can get Michael to know that she exists is to send him anonymous love letters (since it worked so well with getting Mia to notice Kenny). She also is having more drama with Kenny because he told her he loves her AGAIN. Only this time he said (well yelled) it in a hallway full of people. Now everyone is teasing her and asking why the heck she didn't say "I love you" back. She also has an interesting conversation with her freind Tina about how to be a good kisser (you know, just in case Micahel ever does ask her out).
At her princess lesson, Mia has to try on ballgown after ballgown (to try and see which one is the perfect one for her debut to the Genovian people). As she is doing this, she finds herself spilling her guts about all of her love life problems to her designer, Sebastiano. Sebastiano is a very good listener, and when it comes time for Mia to leave, she feels 10 million times better becuase she got everything off her chest.
My reading ends with Mia writing about a school-wide asssembly that was called to try and figure out who the person who pulled the fire alarm was (oops...Mia could be in some big trouble).
Response:
Well, I'm about half way done with this book...and I'm so sad :( I love love love this one (mainly because it's about love) and I can't believe it's going to end soon!! I believe that my favorite part in this chunk of reading was on the day of the walkout. Mia kept arguing with herself about whether or not she is going to participate. I just cracked up when she got her hall pass and was walking around the hallway like she was a crimminal, and then when she pulled the fire alarm...oh it was a great read :) I am finding out that these books just keep getting funnier and funnier...and that's a great thing!!
